CCPTP Mid-Winter Meeting - March 6th

Training Implications of the Internationalization Movement in Counseling Psychology
A four member panel will present on the training implications of the current internationalization movement in the field of counseling psychology in the areas of integrating cross-national competencies and international students' training needs into the curriculum, practicum & internship training, and mentoring practices.
The four panelists are: Dr. John Romano (University of Minnesota), Dr. Puncky Heppner (University of Missouri Columbia), Dr. Li-fei Wang (National Taiwan Normal University), and Dr. Sif Einarsdóttir (University of Iceland).
The second half of this morning program will be facilitated breakout sessions where participants can ask questions, offer observations and share experiences related to the topics discussed by the panelists.
Offered by the APA Division 17 International Section and Council of Counseling Psychology Training Programs (CCPTP).
There is no fee to attend. No breakfast or refreshments will be available. CEU’s will be offered. Please select “Pre-Conference Activity” option #1 on the online registration form to attend.

Session I: Practicum training in our academic programs to best prepare students for internship.
Session II: Licensure/entrance to practice given recent APA initiatives and some state licensures laws.
Both sessions will have a panel consisting of Drs. Nadya Fouad, Karen Taylor, Emil Rodolfo, and Roberta Nutt, followed by a breakout session to discuss these topics in small groups.

There is a $50 fee to attend, which includes lunch. CEU’s will be offered. Please select “Pre-Conference Activity” option #9 on the online registration form to attend.
Please note food and beverage costs were kept minimal during the CCPTP mid-winter meeting. Please make your own breakfast arrangements prior to the morning session. You are welcome to bring your own beverages to the meeting. The afternoon session will include a group lunch with beverage.
